Educator, author, radio and television apologist, archbishop. He was born Peter Sheen on May 8, 1895 in El Paso, Illinois. He was ordained to the priesthood on Sept. 20, 1919 in Peoria, IL. He served as an Auxillary Bishop for the Archdiocese of New York from 1951-1966. On December 16,1966 he was appointed the Bishop of the Rochester, New York Diocese. Bishop Sheen is most famous for his radio show, "The Catholic Hour" and his television show, "Life is Worth Living." This is a cenotaph. He is buried at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City.
